Join us for a work-in-progress screening of “A Miracle Child,” a 50 minute documentary that chronicles the story of Aidan, an eleven year old boy with Cerebral palsy who came to SMC to learn how to roll, crawl and walk for the first time in his life. Filmed over 2 years, the documentary not only shows Aidan’s motor progress but also the many facets of his life with his family and the special needs community. Intimate, powerful and in-depth, this film will resonate strongly with all families who have children who are challenged with severe physical disabilities as well as for somatic practitioners and other natural healers who wish to see how their work can change the lives of those in serious need. The showing of “A Miracle Child” will be preceded by remarks by SMC directors Yuji Oka and Stephanie Gottlob and will also be followed by a round-table discussion with the participants in the film. Snacks and refreshment will be provided and admission is free. Please note that this event is restricted to parents, caregivers, and professionals and is not for children.
